Why a spa adds a cold plunge

The cold plunge is now the most requested treatment after the sauna and steam room, and the only one sold as a circuit (hot/cold contrast) without a practitioner. It takes up 2 to 4 m², fits into an existing wet area, and creates a reason for local customers to return, not just hotel guests. 10 to 30 uses per day: that is the typical operating rate of an equipped hotel spa.

What to specify for a spa

A spa is a public-access facility: the water must be treated, refreshed, and monitored. The configuration depends on the number of visitors:

Water treatment
Automatic renewal + germicidal UV-C lamp + pro chlorine filter

Lead time
8 weeks

Intensive Pro

Cooling unit
High-power professional heat pump, tropicalized +40 °C

14 weeks

Spa-specific features: dual suction (surface skimmer + main drain); chlorine-, salt-, and ozone-resistant titanium heat exchanger; air-conditioned equipment room separate from the wet area; portable chiller to eliminate noise in the treatment area; 3/4" (standard) or Ø 50 mm (heavy-duty) plumbing connections to be installed by your plumber. The PolarPlunge treatment package covers the tub; the rest of the spa's sanitation remains the responsibility of your pool contractor.

The sauna, for a real hot/cold circuit

A spa offering cold plunges and saunas can sell a complete experience rather than just equipment: heat, cold immersion, relaxation. Our Horizon saunas can be installed outdoors next to the wet area, or custom-built indoors. Delivered pre-assembled and heated by a remotely controllable HUUM heater, they fit into your opening hours without major construction. We work with you to size the sauna according to your customer numbers and provide you with the plans and technical requirements. Tell us about your spa: every project receives a tailor-made proposal.

Hygiene, maintenance and service

The maintenance protocol (chlorine testing, filter replacement, water renewal) is reset upon commissioning and can be entrusted to our partner technicians under a monthly contract. Components are guaranteed for 2 to 5 years depending on the part, spare parts available for at least 10 years, remote WiFi monitoring of temperatures and cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

The temperature is generally set between 2°C and 10°C, depending on each user's cold tolerance, with immersion up to the neck (the head does not need to be submerged). A few minutes per session are enough: most of the benefits are already achieved with a cumulative exposure of around ten minutes per week, and moving in the water is recommended.

A public cold plunge is subject to the rules applicable to pools open to the public; the PolarPlunge setup (regulated chlorine, filtration, water turnover) is designed to meet these requirements.

Yes, in the Pro configuration; the PRO refrigeration unit and automatic replenishment are sized for supervised daily use.

8 weeks for the catalog, 14 weeks for intensive PRO, excluding plumbing and electrical work at your expense.
