Cold plunges
for the hotel industry

PolarPlunge designs and assembles in France cold plunges for 5-star hotel spas and luxury hotels: stainless steel or wooden tubs, professional refrigeration units, automatic water renewal, and remote monitoring. Our plunges are installed in establishments such as Cheval Blanc Paris, Cheval Blanc Courchevel, Le Mas Candille, and Maison Villeroy. You will receive a priced proposal within 48 hours, and a dedicated engineer will oversee your project until it becomes operational.

Why hotels are installing cold plunges

A cold plunge transforms a spa into a recovery area that guests book, photograph and recommend. It complements an existing sauna or steam room by creating a hot/cold contrast circuit, without the need for major construction. It meets a demand now coming from the guests themselves, particularly sports enthusiasts and international visitors.

What needs to be specified for a hotel

The right configuration first depends on traffic. Two levels exist:

Pro standard

Usage
10 to 30 plunges per day

Typical application
Boutique hotel, hotel spa, wellness center

Tub
Ultimate XL or Handmade

Refrigeration unit
High-power commercial heat pump, tropicalized to +40°C

Water treatment
Automatic turnover + germicidal UV-C lamp + ozone

Lead time
8 weeks

Intensive Pro

Usage
50 to 150 plunges per day

Typical application
Grand hotel, recovery center, premium sports club

Tub
PRO range 316L stainless steel double-walled, 1 to 3 people

Cooling unit
High-power professional heat pump, tropicalized +40 °C

Water treatment
Automatic renewal, UV-C, sand filter, dosing pump, titanium heat exchanger

Lead time
14 weeks

In all cases: dual suction (surface skimmer + main drain), compliance with ARS requirements (regulated chlorine + filtration), standard plumbing connections (3/4" catalog, Ø 50 mm for intensive use), remote WiFi control and monitoring. The equipment room must be air-conditioned; plumbing and electrical connections are carried out by your respective contractors.

Project:
Maison Villeroy, Paris 8th

At 33 rue Jean Goujon, just steps from Avenue Montaigne, Maison Villeroy entrusted PolarPlunge with installing a cold plunge pool in its Haussmann-style inner courtyard, alongside a custom-built outdoor sauna. The wooden tub and sauna were designed to blend in with the building's ashlar stone architecture without detracting from the paved courtyard, with a remote cooling unit to keep noise to a minimum. The hot/cold circuit is available to hotel guests as a complement to the Villeroy Spa, operated in partnership with Buly.

Project:
Cheval Blanc Courchevel

In the Courchevel 1850 resort, the Cheval Blanc hotel has added a PolarPlunge cold plunge to its spa area, an outdoor extension overlooking the slopes. The wooden tub blends in with the stone and wood architecture typical of the resort's chalets, for a hot/cold contrast experience designed for winter sports guests accustomed to the standards of Alpine palaces.

An outdoor sauna for your hotel

Combined with a cold plunge, the sauna creates a complete hot/cold circuit, which the hotel can offer as free access or as a treatment. The Horizon range goes from a 2-person sauna, suitable for a suite or a small spa, to a 6-person sauna with an integrated shower and changing area. The saunas are lined with thermo-ash, feature large floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the outdoors, are heated by a remotely controllable HUUM heater, and are delivered pre-assembled. At Maison Villeroy, we designed a custom-made outdoor sauna for the Haussmann courtyard, alongside the cold plunge.

What we consider with you

  • The number of guests to accommodate at the same time, which determines the size of the sauna.
  • The location (garden, terrace, courtyard) and access for delivery.
  • The electrical supply suitable for the heater, or optional wood heating.
  • Any planning permission requirements, to be checked with your local town hall depending on the area; we provide the plans and dimensions.
  • A custom-made indoor sauna, if the space is suitable.

Each sauna project is custom-designed: describe your establishment to us, and we will get back to you with a tailored proposal.

Maintenance and Service

PolarPlunge guarantees components for 2 to 5 years depending on the part and ensures the availability of spare parts for at least 10 years. A monthly maintenance contract (water and filter change) is offered with our partner technicians; one-off interventions are charged at a flat rate. Technical support is available online and by phone, with escalation to a technician within 2 business hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Between 7 and 12 kWh per day, depending on the water replenishment settings, the temperature of the technical room, and the intensity of the system's use.

Automatic replenishment replaces a fraction of the water during each cycle instead of complete drainage. For a replenishment of 30 L per plunge (in compliance with the ARS standard) and 20 plunges per day, this represents approximately 600 L of water per day.

The professional configuration includes regulated chlorine and filtration systems that meet ARS requirements; the maintenance protocol is provided upon commissioning.

8 weeks for the catalog range, 14 weeks for the PRO Intensive range, excluding plumbing and electrical work at your expense. Some Ultimate and Barrel models are available within 2 to 3 weeks depending on stock.

2 to 5 years per component, parts available for at least 10 years. On-site labor is charged at a flat rate.

Yes: the stainless steel and Handmade models are available in outdoor versions; the refrigeration unit can be relocated. A crane or special access is quoted separately.
